Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are your products made?
A: All of our custom products are built in the US. We use parts that are made in the America, Canada, China, and Hong Kong. Many of our parts are custom made based on our design.
Q: Why are the spacer caps different sizes?
A: The primary goal with the spacer cap size is to be large enough that if the bore brush extends into the unit when it exits the barrel, it will not become lodged and get damaged. Secondly, we want to keep it as small as possible in order to catch the expelled patches in the upper chamber, keeping the filters clear.
Q: How can you sell the spacer caps with holes already in them?
A: Our products are designed and intended to be used as a filter for fluids of all types. When used to filter fluids being expelled from a firearm, the unit would not work if there is not an open path for the fluid to flow through.
Q: Why are the spacers different heights?
A: We designed our units to be modular and versatile. Different spacer and spacer caps can be combined for numerous configurations. Additional filtration sections can be added or removed. Our design gives the customer the opportunity to get it exactly as they want.
Q: Can you customize these?
A: We cannot. We are not a machine shop; we contract with numerous other shops to manufacturer the various parts. In order for us to offer a product line, we must purchase the parts in large quantities and getting custom work done is very cost prohibitive.
The configuration of our filters can be customized by going to our “you build it” page and purchasing the individual parts to assemble your own.
Q: Can Titanium and Aluminum parts be used together?
A: Yes, they can. All of our D size Aluminum and Titanium parts are made to the same dimensions. Because of this, they are interchangeable.
Q: Why is the Titanium Filter heavier than the Aluminum?
A: There is a misconception that Titanium is lighter than Aluminum. The fact is that Titanium is heavier than Aluminum but lighter than steel.
Q: What is the difference between the Titanium and Aluminum Filters?
A: The biggest differences are weight and cost. Titanium is much tougher than Aluminum and will not scratch as easily. It is more a preference than a performance issue.
Q: Why are the spacer caps different colors?
A: We do this to make it easier to identify the size. We deal with a large volume of these parts and it helps us ensure the right parts are used. It also works the same way for our customers. Many people buy one filter and then purchase various individual parts so they can change the size for use on different firearms. This helps in keeping the sizes separate.
Q: Why can’t I find a phone number for you?
A: We have a very strict policy prohibiting us from discussing our products over the phone. In order to conduct our business with the highest integrity, we communicate through e-mail to provide clear communication with every conversation. We will be happy to answer any questions that we can, but it must be through e-mail.
Q: Will your filters work on my gun?
A: We provide as much information and guidance as we can. We have no more information on different barrel threads than is available to everyone. It is each potential customer’s responsibility to determine if our products will mate to their firearms.
Q: Will your filters work on a pistol?
A: Our filters will work on pistols. With the D size, many people find them a little bulky and heavy for use on a pistol. They will work, but there are some pitfalls. Our B size are much smaller and lighter. This makes them more suitable for a pistol.
Q: What are the parts screwed into the filter cap used for?
A: Our complete Solvent Filters have an extra size 2 spacer and an extra spacer cap attached to the end of the unit. We do this to provide extra parts in the event the user wants to configure their filter slightly different.
Q: Why aren’t there many reviews on your products?
A: While we understand that the reviews can go a long way in helping people decide to make a purchase, we believe that everyone should decide for themselves if they are willing to review our products. We do not beg for reviews and we do not write our own as some companies do. We appreciate all of the feedback we have received and hope more people will review our products. We can proudly say that the return rate on products purchased from us is less than 0.5%.
Q: If I subscribe to the updates, will I get constant emails from you?
A: You will not. We are absolutely against automatically signing people up for our updates unless they uncheck a box. In order to receive news from us, you have to elect to receive them and not elect not to receive them. We only send out updates when we honestly believe we have something people want to know about and we do not subscribe to any service that constantly sends out marketing e-mails. We do not like it when companies do it to us, so we do everything we can to ensure we do not operate that way.
